about ride-tribe... who

ride-tribe is the outcome of lot of late night planning and not a small amount of dreaming by Karl and Nikki Lebedis.

We started off as a couple of mountain bikers from Aberdeen who exhausted the local trails and wanted to spread our wings. We've made a few friends along the way, teaming up with other folks and growing a little every year.

Karl Lebedis

karl Karl loves riding bikes. And he loves talking about bikes. And more than any of that, he loves meeting other people who love riding bikes.

Karl is in charge of pretty much everything here. That means sourcing and maintaining our demo fleet, finding the best possible trails for you to ride, and making sure your riding day is as fun as it possibly can be.

Where Karl really comes into his own though is his top quality sense of humour and sunny personality. We challenge anyone to spend a week with us and not return home with a Karlism or two!

But don't be fooled by the laid back approach - this guy can get his bike down just about anything that's thrown at him.

He's been riding bikes for, well, forever, and holds the SMBLA Mountain Bike Leader Award and a BASP Emergency First Aid qualification. In other words, he's pretty well covered for safely leading you into the most challenging terrain Spain has to offer.

Right now Karl is surgically attached to his Commençal Meta, unless he's going lightweight when switches to a Trek 6700.

Nikki Lebedis

nikki

Nikki helps out Karl at the ride-tribe base camp. Why? Well, mostly because she loves organising stuff. She'll claim she doesn't, but you'll soon see.

She's probably the first person you'll hear from if you have an enquiry, and definitely the one who'll figure out what you're looking for, take your booking, and get your holiday up and running.

It should also be said that ride-tribe isn't Nikki's only job. She spends a lot of her time as a freelance trekking guide, working here in Spain, in the UK and - when she's lucky - a bit further afield.

Right now Nikki is riding a Santa Cruz Blur for xc, a Cannondale Prophet when she needs a bit more travel and retro ’94 steel framed Kona Cindercone to the pub...

...not to mention a well worn pair of Asolos on the mountain!

Dave Olinksi

dave

Dave is our man in the Eastern Alpujarra. Along with his wife Jo and business partner Gez, he runs the trailbase mountain lodge.

A mispent youth imvolving skatboards and bmx left grown-up Dave permenantly on the hunt for adventure. Luckily for us, that hunt took him to our little corner of Spain!

Dave runs all the holidays in the Eastern Alpujarra, based at the trailbase mountain lodge.
